Product Description
What is CMC sodium carboxymethyl cellulose?
CMC is a kind of important cellulose ether and a good water-soluble polyanionic compound obtained from chemically modified natural fibers, soluble in cold water. It has unusual and extremely valuable comprehensive physical and chemical properties such as emulsifiablity, dispersion, solid dispersion, non-perishability, physiological harmlessness, etc., and is a kind of widely-used natural polymer derivatives.
The superior properties of Na CMC include: thickening, water retention, metabolism inert, film formability, dispersion stability, etc. It can be used as thickeners, water retention agents, binders, lubricants, emulsifiers, assistant deflocculants, tablet substrate, biological substrates and carriers of biological products.
CMC can be used in ceramic body, glazing pulp, and decoration. Used in ceramic body, it is a good strengthening agent, which can strengthen the mouldability of mud and sand materials, help the shaping of the base and increase the folding strength of the green body. Used in glazing pulp and decoration, it is a binder that plays a role of suspending, uncoagulating, and keeping water.
Addition:
0.03%-0.2% used in ceramic embryo;
0.05-0.2% used in glazing pulp;
1.4-4.0% used in colored glaze.

Applications in ceramic body
*Small usage, improve the mouldability of mud and sand material and the folding strength of the green body obviously.
*Good suspending and spreading property can avoid the coagulation of raw materials.
*Strong resistance to mechanical wear, during ball-milling or mechanical stirring, few molecular chains will be broken.
Application in glazing pulp
*Excellent in spreading and colloid protecting, it can make the glazing pulp in a stable dispersed status.
*Enhance the surface tension of the glaze materials, prevent water spreading into the base, increase the smoothness of the glaze.
*It can adjust the flowing property of the glazing pulp just in small usage, easy for glazing.
*Improve the binding ability of the base, increase the intensity of the glaze surface significantly and prevent glaze dropping off.
*The smoothness of the glaze surface is fine, and the glazing pulp is stable.
Applications in decoration
*Good resistance to acid and alkali, smooth in filtration, lower the filter washing frequency and reduce the color difference.
*The flowing property is good, easy and smooth in printing, no insoluble substance.
